New York, New York!
I can’t say enough about how excited I am to be here in NYC. I’ve wanted to come here for years and its everything I could’ve imagined and more. It/s the most ballin’ city ever. Period. Everything is like Super Sized. It’s incredible. We pulled in here last night after we stopped in Philly to drop off Tyler Yee at the airport and smash on some world famous cheesesteaks. We’re staying at DJ Cobo’s spot on 33rd Street near 3rd Ave, with the Empire State Building, Times Square and Bryant Park all within walking distance. It’s so ill.
We mostly just kicked it last night, walked around and saw some dope spots around the neighborhood, but today we really got on our grind. Me, G, Cobo and Patrick started off the day by taking the 6 train to Soho, scoping out the nicest sneaker shops, posting stickers and handing out flyers in one of the flyest neighborhoods I’ve ever seen.
After Soho we met up with my good friends Jonny Salud and Rachel Brotman at Union Square and got some food and walked around some more, stickering and whatnot. We stopped by Rachel’s place for our first New York rooftop experience. It was amazing.
After parting ways with Rachel, Cobo, Jonny, Patrick, G and I took the 1 train to Columbus Circle at the Southwest corner of Central Park. We split up from there and G and I walked all the way to 81st and Broadway to surprise the lovely Ms. Erika Flowers at her job at Starbucks. She hooked us up with some huge ass venti Frappucinos and we were off again to the grind.
We stickered the shit out of Broadway and eventually made our way to 73rd and Central Park West where we met up with my friend Pen, who joined us on the most epic sticker session this world has ever seen. We walked back through Times Square, Bryant Park and down 5th Ave, damn near hitting every traffic light, mailbox and lightpost before we ended up back at Cobo’s spot.
It’s been a long ass, satisfying day on the grind.
Here are some pictures from our rooftop session at Rachel’s spot near the Village:
